An ice storm the night before, two hour drive in the dark to get first light, 38 degree water, 28 degree air. We get there and the sun is covered by a gray winter sky and the swell is about half the size as expected. A little camera magic and Luke came up with an image that makes it look like a glassy summer morning, minus the 6 mil boots, hood, and gloves. Typical wave hunt story in New England...

Have fun...big waves, little waves, big terrain, no terrain...

Surfing, skateboarding, and pretty much everything in life should be about fun first. If it's not fun then what's the point? This looks fun.

Thanks to ESM for keeping the rightside current about my happenings in their latest Rightside Roundup with a blurb and shot, and linking Washashore! I guess the best thing to do is blog right back at 'em!

Looking back to when it was warm...

Not much going on for surf here right now so its nice to look back on a super fun road trip I took to Nova Scotia and Maine the end of last summer. Met some incredible people, ate some good local food, backyard bbq seshed a mini ramp, and found some machine like log waves. Looking forward to my next trip north of the border...

If you wanted something to listen to...

Back home. Flat and frozen. Not much to do other than drink like a fisherman back from a month at sea...

Flying east after an amazing trip to the Southwestern tip of the United States. Thanks to everyone who was with me out there for making it the best trip ever. Enjoy the good life out west, the lake next to my house is frozen and no waves in site...

Got to meet Mick the other day while hanging in the Bing factory. Here's his new edit. As you can see and I can attest to from a sample of the shape yesterday, the Levitator works.

Cali Log Dreamin'

Much thanks to everyone at Bing for supplying some quality boards for the trip. Pictured here is a 9'10" Elevator and a piggish prototype. Also got to try the Levitator and Musket while here. The only problem with riding for Bing is that every board I try is the best board I've ever ridden so it makes ordering boards difficult! A good problem to have. New personal profile should be on the site shortly...www.bingsurf.com

Buck!!!

New edit on the Eastern Surf Magazine site from good friend Colin Hurlihey. A love of shallow gnarly barrels is evident, but he can also log with style. If your lucky maybe he'll show you one of his fishing holes with monster bass...Go get 'em Buck!

Been spending last couple of days between Rincon and C-Street. A lot of really good surfing being witnessed while walking up the points. Some of the craziest boards I've ever seen being ridden out here, and ridden well. Lucky for me on lunch break between sessions in Ventura I had the camera in hand. This guy chose the right piece of equipment for this moment...
